The Santhal’s are an ethnic group native to India and Bangladesh. They are the largest tribe in the state of Jharkhand, India. The state is rich in minerals and Uranium was discovered there in the 80’s. Since then, the mining industry has grown drastically. Heavy mining is done without any consideration for human lives and rights of the tribal population are constantly suppressed and violated. The effect of mining on nature is being completely ignored. This film narrates the story of a tribal couple coping with the loss of their young daughter and the impact Uranium mining has had on them. The film tries to capture their lives and tradition while stating the impact of mining on them.
